Not so long ago, the Vancouver Island marmot seemed doomed to extinction. In fact in 2003, fewer than 30 marmots remained in the wild. Your support has made the difficult work of recovering this species possible – and together we succeeding!
As of spring 2025, there are over 380 marmots on 33 mountains; something we could not have even imagined when started! But we also know there is a long way to go before the Vancouver Island marmot’s place in the wild is secure.
